Cairo-ALU Strategic Initiative Debuts Dual Master's in Smart City Planning for Arab Megacities
Arab Leadership University and The American University in Cairo (AUC Network) have launched a groundbreaking Dual MSc in Smart City Planning & Sustainable Urban Development. The program is specifically structured to supply executive engineering and planning talent for the historic wave of gigaprojects reshaping the Arab urban landscape, including NEOM, the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, and Qatar's Lusail.
Postgraduate students will master GIS geospatial analytics, urban digital twins, IoT-driven municipal utility systems, and zero-carbon building frameworks. The curriculum places equal emphasis on advanced computational design and public policy for urban livability and climate resilience.
"Our cities are being built from the ground up to be the most technologically advanced on earth," noted the Dean of Engineering and Built Environment. "This dual qualification ensures Arab planners possess the multidisciplinary expertise required to govern and optimize these smart megacities for generations to come."
Applications are being accepted for the upcoming autumn intake, with applicants completing applied dissertations focused on their home countries' urban challenges.
